Have you seen it yet? TV Show Reviews by Girl Enters

Hey everyone,

The huge TV series addict I am, I have for you a review of 4 shows that came out this year and that, in my opinion, deserve major recognition from everyone, but mostly you, my fellow bloggers.

  • 13 Reasons Why

Genres: Drama. Mystery
Country: USA
Language: English
Release Date: 31st March
Based on: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

I am going to start with “13 Reasons Why” – a series that so suddenly struck us, with its truthful content, exposing the difficulties of teenage lives and the whole horror that almost everyone has to go through during high school. Personally, after watching a trailer, I expected another typical teenage drama/mystery. However, this TV series had me hooked from the very beginning and surprisingly for myself I ended up binge watching it. Even though, it is safe to say, that this is one of the best and probably the most brutally honest teenage dramas yet, I wouldn’t want the producers to make another season, simply because, the series ended on the perfectly climactic point, and in my opinion doesn’t require any further explanation. The painfully harsh reality presented in the show will definitely make you feel extremely emotional, depressed, and maybe even disturbed, but I assure you that it will make you look at others from a slightly different perspective and maybe even make you a better person. I do not want to include the storyline since there might be some people out there, who still haven’t seen the show, but I want to warn you that the last few episode get a little too graphical, and will be hard to watch without tears welling up.
In addition, I hope that this TV series will help raise awareness to what is going on in high schools nowadays, and save many lives. People, who say that they wasted 13 hours of their lives watching this show, really don’t understand the main issues covered or perhaps cannot relate, because of the age difference. If you are a parent of a teenager and they tell you that they don’t want to go to school because people are being mean to them, please listen to your child before calling them a “drama queen” or telling them that everyone goes through the same thing, because you wouldn’t want to go through, what teenagers go through nowadays.

  • Big Little Lies

Genres: Dark comedy. Mystery
Country: USA
Language: English
Release Date: 19th February
Based on: Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

I’m really not a mystery/drama kind of person; however, strangely enough I loved this series. First of all the amazing cast of one and only Nicole Kidman, amazing Shailene Woodley and of course Reese Witherspoon, all three actresses brilliantly managed to portray three women with very unique personalities and extremely tough destinies. As soon as I heard about the book that the show is based on, I wanted to read it more than anything, unfortunately I couldn’t find time for that, and ended up watching the whole TV series almost in one sitting. Amazing storyline, suspenseful plot twists, breathtaking performance and stunning locations – all those things were greatly combined by the producers and the directors. HBO keeps surprising its audience with more and more exquisite shows and setting our expectations higher with every new TV series. 7 episode story is guaranteed to have you hooked from the very beginning.

Genres: Comedy
Country: USA
Language: English
Release Date: 24th April
Based on: #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso

If you are a blogger or a vlogger or just an entrepreneur with big dream and you don’t know about this TV series, then please stop whatever you are doing right now (or straight after reading this) and go watch this show. You can thank me afterwards. Again I will not be including any spoilers in this review, so you are safe to read. What I really enjoyed about the series is that for a change, we can’t call the main character – Sophia, very likable, yes she is a hard worker, yes she has been through a lot of things, yes she struggled and most importantly she is relatable.
However from the very beginning her attitude towards life didn’t live up to the expectations I had, and I’m glad that it didn’t. It’s a comedic show so don’t expect it to always be realistic because it won’t. This series is much deeper than one might think, it doesn’t only motivate you to put yourself together, doesn’t only show you how a girl grew a fashion empire from nothing, but lets you see her grow as a person. Because let’s face it nobody knows what they are doing in their 20’s and it is very inspiring and reassuring to see a quirky girl follow her dream and get where she wanted to be. Honestly, I recommend this show to everyone who is struggling and trying to grow their business or turn their hobby into career.

  • Great News

Genres: Sitcom
Country: USA
Language: English
Release Date: 25th April

Another comedy show that I absolutely loved, unfortunately it is only 10 episodes long, hopefully there will be more seasons coming out. Out of all actors/actresses in the show I believe that Andrea Martin’s approach to her character was the best. Her outstanding performance had me laughing in tears a couple of times. What disappointed me, however, is that the show is way too similar to 30 Rock and maybe even a bit worse. Characters didn’t have any chemistry going on which was a little disappointing as well. On the other hand, it is a very charming light show that will make you laugh.

The Melodious Voice of Grant Gustin

Grant touched my soul on the latest episode of The Flash – Duet.

I don’t like to watch musical tv shows, but I loved this change on The Flash.

The ending swept my feet away, with Barry singing.
Who would have thought that The Flash could sing?

The lyrics were perfect for The Flash series… Running home to You..

Run Barry.. Run…

I have to admit this proposal was freaking beautiful _

Yeps, I’m in love with Grant .. Again _

Top Best Quotes From Harvey Specter that Will Motivate You

For Gabriel Macht…

I have to admit something..

Harvey is My Man.. and, will always be

If you don’t know Harvey – you just lost 80% of your life.

You CANNOT not know Harvey. He’s that badass freaking awesome lawyer who works for Pearson Specter Litt in the most exciting city on earth ~ New York.

When confronted with shit from life – Say “What Would Harvey Do”

“Now when I got here, I dominated. They thought I worked 100 hours a day. Now, no matter what time I get in, nobody questions my ability to get the job done. Get it through your head. First impressions last. You start behind the eight ball, you’ll never get in front.”

“What are your choices when someone holds a gun to your head? You do what they say or they shoot you, right? Wrong! You take the gun. You pull out a bigger gun or you call their bluff or you do one of another 146 other things.”

“Ever loved someone so much, you would do anything for them? Yeah, well make that someone yourself and do whatever the hell you want.”

“That’s the difference between you and me. You wanna lose small, I wanna win big.”

“Don’t play the Case. Play the Man”

“Sometimes good guys gotta do bad things to make the bad guys pay.”

Harvey can be a real motivator if you know how & when to apply his words.

And, then…. there’s Donna…
but, that’s for another blog post :’)

My 13 Amazing Favorite TV Shows

I am an addict of TV Shows – of the good ones! The best Ones!
And, a diehard loyal fan of my character Stars!

I even have a TV Show Tracker which sends me notifications 15 minutes before the shows air.

  • Prison Break

When his brother, Lincoln Burrows, was convicted of a crime he didn’t commit and put on Death Row, Michael holds up a bank to get himself incarcerated alongside his brother in Fox River State Penitentiary, then sets in motion a series of elaborate plans to break Lincoln out and prove his innocence. Once out of jail, their perils aren’t over — the brothers must flee to escape recapture and battle an intricate political conspiracy that puts everyone’s life at risk.

This was as expected – First & always the First on my List!
Prison Break was my first tv show I ever watched and it was actually my dad who introduced it to me.
I remember that it used to air only on Saturdays at around 22hr45 & Dad and I, we used to follow that. It was like a tradition.
I have no words to express Prison Break – I don’t know about you, but for me, that was a Perfect 10/10 !
And, Wentworth Miller was exceptional.

Prison Break is returning in 3 months, on January 2017!

  • Suits

Big-time Manhattan corporate lawyer Harvey Specter hires the only guy who impresses him — college dropout Mike Ross. The fact that Ross isn’t actually a lawyer isn’t lost on Specter, who believes his new right-hand man is a legal prodigy with the book smarts of a Harvard law grad and the street smarts of a hustler. However, in order to keep their jobs, the charade must remain strictly between these two unconventional thinkers. Eventually, the secret Ross is hiding gets out, leading to his arrest and trouble for the firm.

Next, on my list is definitely Suits!
Harvey Specter & Mike Ross changed taught me how to take shit and deal with it.
I love that Suits portrayed strong women character like Jessica Pearson, Donna Paulsen & even Rachel Zane.
Whenever in front of a tough situation, use #WWHD
(What Would Harvey Do) and deal with it!

We saw Mike Ross in Legends of Tomorrow, season 2 episode 2.
I like that he tried a new character, very different from the Mike Ross that we know.

  • Arrow

My name is Oliver Queen. For five years, I was stranded on an island with only one goal: survive. Now I will fulfill my father’s dying wish – to use the list of names he left me and bring down those who are poisoning my city. To do this, I must become someone else. I must become something else.

We all love Oliver Queen!
The man who survived, the man who fights for justice to bring down the evil ones.
Oliver Queen taught us how to be strong, that no matter how much pain you have been through, you CAN survive. You CAN deal with it and move forward.
Learn how to Fight. For Yourself.
And, who doesn’t love Felicity Smoak? arrow-poster-107073

  • The Flash

My name is Barry Allen. And I am the fastest man alive. When I was a child I saw my mother killed by something impossible. My father went to prison for her murder. Then an accident made me the impossible. To the outside world I am an ordinary forensic scientist, but secretly I use my speed to fight crime and find others like me. And one day, I’ll find who killed my mother and get justice for my father. I am the Flash.

Barry Allen is sweet & cute, despite he keeps changing the timeline.
I love Cisco.. During Comic Con, everyone said they wanted to play the character of Cisco. Who wouldn’t? _
And, now Tom Felton has joined as CSI working with Barry.
Something tells me that Tom isn’t just a CSI.

And, who doesn’t adore the crossovers?

There will be crossover between Flash, Arrow & Supergirl for the 100th episode of Arrow!

  • Jane The Virgin

A young, virgin and devout Catholic woman discovers that she was accidentally artificially inseminated with Rafael Sperm. (Rafael, the guy she had a huge crush on 5 years ago & who never called her).

I totally relate to Jane’s character as I am a writer too.
The inspiration come up like Jane’s inspiration.
With Justin Baldoni’s hotness, Petra’s evil plans (Now Anezka), Michael’s romantic eyes, Xo & Alba’s cute fights and Rogelio’s unique personality, the show is full of comedy, surprises and it just makes you happy!
It’s a delight to watch!

You guys should check out Brett’s Instagram stories – he’s amazingly funny!
And, of course Rogelio De La Vega’s Twitter account.

  •  How To Get Away With Murder (HTGAWM)

Annalise Keating (Oscar-nominated,Tony-winning actress Viola Davis) is a brilliant, charismatic and seductive professor of defense law, who teaches a class called How to Get Away With Murder. Annalise, also a criminal defense attorney, selects a group of students — the best and the brightest — to assist with cases at her firm alongside her employees, the trustworthy and discreet Frank Delfino  and Bonnie Winterbottom, an associate attorney. Mysteries arise that test everyone’s limits and reveal dark truths.

HTGAWM is thrilling and involves mystery and suspense with intelligent brain-teasing scenes.
It always keeps you in the suspense of ‘what is going to happen next?’

  • Gotham

Jim Gordon is a rising detective in corrupt Gotham City, where his late father was a successful district attorney. Brave, honest and determined to prove himself, Jim hopes to return the city to the glamorous, purer version he remembers as a child. He and his partner, legendary Detective Harvey Bullock, must navigate the dirty politics of Gotham’s justice system, even as they tackle a high-profile case, the murder of billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. Gordon becomes a friend to their young orphan, Bruce.

Batman was everyone’s superhero when we were kids.

What I love in Gotham is Penguin!

Penguin is my favorite villain till now. The way he Robin Taylor portrayed the character is superb and transfixing. They all laughed at Penguin, but now he is the king of Gotham.

  • Lucifer

In the beginning… The angel Lucifer was cast out of Heaven and condemned to rule Hell for all eternity. Until he decided to take a vacation…

You cannot NOT love Lucifer. He’s a hot devil!
The guilty should always be punished.

  • Stranger Things

This thrilling Netflix-original drama stars award-winning actress Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who lives in a small Indiana town in 1983 — inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audiences. When Joyce’s 12-year-old son, Will, goes missing, she launches a terrifying investigation into his disappearance with local authorities. As they search for answers, they unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments, unnerving supernatural forces, and a very unusual little girl.

I have a whole blog post dedicated to Stranger Things!

  • Wayward Pines

Executive producer M. Night Shyamalan brings Blake Crouch’s best-selling trilogy of novels, “Pines,” to life in this psychological, mind-bending thriller about a mysterious small town in Idaho called Wayward Pines. Visitors and natives of the unusual town struggle to understand the complex origins of Wayward Pines, what the town really is — and if there is a way to get out. As explosive and shocking events unfold, it becomes clear that a civil war is emerging, and that the human race is in danger.

The first season of Wayward Pines was AMAZING! SPLENDID! AWESOME!

From the first episode to the last one of season 1, the show maintained its thrills.
Ethan Burke was really amazing.

But, then I seriously don’t know what happened with season 2 and I was really disappointed. Like VERY disappointing.
I just hope that Season 3 brings the same thrill as season 1!

  • Legends of Tomorrow

“Arrow” and “The Flash” have some new superhero company in the CW’s lineup with the addition of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” After seeing what doom the future holds, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter realizes heroes alone are not enough to prevent the impending catastrophe that threatens not only the planet, but all of time itself. Tasked with recruiting both heroes and villains, Rip brings together a ragtag team of divergent talents, which includes the likes of Sara Lance, Ray Palmer, and Heat Wave.

Atom Man, Sara Lance, Firestorm, Rip Hunter and all the other legends together – awesome team to save history!

  • Bates Motel

After the death of her husband, Norma Bates buys a motel in the picturesque coastal town of White Pine Bay, giving herself and teenage son Norman a chance to begin anew. Shy Norman is reluctant at first, but with the help of his mother — with whom he shares an intensely close relationship — the boy begins to open up to others and make new friends. Some locals, however, aren’t as friendly and welcoming to the Bates, who discover that because White Pine Bay isn’t as peaceful as it appears, they are forced to do whatever it takes to survive.

Being a serial killer and you don’t have a clue about it?
Bates Motel encompasses every thrills, suspense while getting in the mind of Norman and his relationship with  her mother, Norma.

  • Teen Wolf

The high-school anonymity Scott McCall was trying to break free from couldn’t have happened in a more mysterious, complicated way. While walking in the woods one night Scott encounters a creature, is bitten in the side, and his life is forever changed. Is he a human or a werewolf? Or a little bit of both? Controlling the strange urges he now feels is the toughest part, and he’s afraid the urges could end up controlling him.

Where do you get so many good-looking guys in only one show? _

I like Tyler Hoechlin as Derek and Dylan O’Brien character in the show.

Saturday with Stranger Things

I spent my whole Saturday watching Stranger Things – yep, the whole season – yes, the entire eight episodes.

Stranger Things & The Night of was on my list, but I had so many tv shows to complete. I couldn’t fit in those two.
And yesterday, I was going to watch the first episode of each one.
Up we go, First Episode of Stranger Things.. What I said – “One episode of Stranger Things, then, one episode of The Night of, then maybe I will watch Mr Robot or Blindspot.”

After the First episode , I was like, “Shit, who took Will? I need to know!!!”
And, of I went on & on. I think I left the couch only to go find food. And, to pee.

Seriously guys, if you haven’t watched this one – YOU NEED TO!!!
Netflix, you never fail to amaze me!!!

The thrilling, the suspense, the story – I have no words. Amazingly done.

And those Kids?

I have become a fan of them!

I am not really a fan of Horror/Thriller series. My only thriller serie was Wayward Pines, which disappointed me in season 2.
But, this one got me on the hooked!

Very intelligent thriller!

It keeps you wow, it keeps you wanting to know what will happen next; and, the suspense freaking awesome!
